 Yeah...I’m sort of imagining her not knowing what it was going to cost to ship, then deer in headlights and doubling down and going for it anyway when she found out. Sweet gesture, just really hard to justify that cost no matter what you make. Yes it sucks, and I don’t wanna be that guy, it was a nice gesture of your mom, but this sounds crazy expensive for some pizza and ice cream. Nope, we’re both from a small poor town in Ohio - she’s an out of work hairstylist due to COVID. She decided to surprise me with a present no matter the cost.

I moved here for my now wife and seeing the way people act has got me wishing to go back to Europe. I loved it here before people started showing blind faith in someone so wrong so often. I swear so many people I thought were good people have shown me just how little they care for anyone other than themselves. I dunno, I think everyone should be raised to be like that in a sense, granted I think people should be able to ask for help if they need it. I don't think it is healthy to suffer a tragedy and break when you could be trying to make things better.bI am not implying that people shouldn't feel emotions, nor should they bury them, but you can feel pain and sadness and try to be a useful human at the same time. If you go overseas they are also likely sniffing for cash. I’ve seen a few of them and have even been a plant for one while they were training it while getting on a plane. You're right, Customs has a lot of various detector dogs for the various products that can be brought into the country, beyond just their cash dogs and drug dogs. They also have a surprisingly high number of dogs that sniff for animal and plant smuggling (both live specimens and products derived from them), which I think are my favorite. I love picturing a dog just having his job be to look for fruits and veg and such. The hardest thing I've ever done was not pat that little dog in its vest.
