You're right. If you're in America, then the mental health system isn't doing what it needs to do for a majority of people who need it. You have your own trauma, compounded with the shared trauma of watching our world go through a historical event that generally only happens once in a century, and (if you're an American) you're doing all of that under the governance of one of the most corrupt, nepotistic and inept governments in our history. And depending on the generation you grew up in (I'm a Millennial, and I'm guessing you're probably one too), there is a definite disconnect between the rosy painting of life we were handed by our upbringings and the reality we're facing.
