You know, dogs don't have as good of noses as their cousins.... the bear. Bears have a much, much more powerful sense of smell than dogs do, so much so that polar bears can smell seals through the ice. I am still flabbergasted that we never domesticated bears. They simply took SARS COV 2 saliva and compared it with normal healthy human saliva. This is an extremely weak conclusion. They did not test a variety of samples to include a common cold or the flu, or any other saliva from a person with respiratory issues. A more accurate headline would be "Trained dogs able to sniff out spit from people with respiratory issues". Because is a very bad study, with no use, and lack of control of the confusion factors.

 Once they get off the island, they have a lot more “fame” (for lack of a better word) than they had going in. If people didn’t like them while they were on the show, they’ll definitely hear about it once they get out since a lot of the Islanders have public social media accounts. I think the poster you replied to meant that a normal person (as normal as one can be to sign up for a show like this) getting thrust into the spotlight after getting off the show is not something someone can prepare for.  Whilst I agree that the contestants on Love Island need more support after leaving the villa as they get plunged into a world they have never experienced before, it’s crazy and overwhelming and extremely intense. I don’t think you can chalk this one up to Love Island, she wasn’t a contestant and this wasn’t her first TV work. I’m not denying that fame can be brutal especially with all the critique that comes with it, I just don’t think that Love Island was part of the cause here. This was a woman struggling with her own personal demons that were magnified to an extent she could only see one option. Extremely sad and heartbreaking. At TSA, when going through security before departure they are explosive sniffing dogs. But at custom, when re-entering the country from overseas they are drug-sniffing dogs. Then also, some airports let local police come walk around more or less anywhere passengers are.
