 Honestly, if the law says you can buy a case at this distributor but only 2 six-packs at that restaurant. The law is not about controlling alcohol purchases and more about controlling where the money goes. I think the difference here though, is that there are tons of bars and pizza shops that sell 6 packs until 2am, but beer distributors close at like 10pm. So if it's the last call and you want to keep partying at someone's house, you gotta fork over the premium price for 2 6 packs (for each person). In North Carolina, you can still only buy liquor from the government in government-run ABC stores that aren’t allowed to sell wine or beer.
