The tories are still a way of Trump in my opinion. Trump is an unapologetic nationalist whereas Boris is a populist. Trump behaves like he does because he’s a genuinely horrid person. Boris does whatever will give him the most votes. He will appear very right-wing at the minute because of Brexit, a nationalist policy which he helped create and so cannot even slightly row back on. Once that is out of the way, he will simply blow in the wind, enacting whatever policies Cummings thinks will move the needle of the nation towards the conservatives. For what it’s worth, I think he’ll do things which are surprisingly liberal, especially from an economic point of view.

At TSA, when going through security before departure they are explosive sniffing dogs. But at custom, when re-entering the country from overseas they are drug-sniffing dogs. Then also, some airports let local police come walk around more or less anywhere passengers are.  Once they get off the island, they have a lot more “fame” (for lack of a better word) than they had going in. If people didn’t like them while they were on the show, they’ll definitely hear about it once they get out since a lot of the Islanders have public social media accounts. I think the poster you replied to meant that a normal person (as normal as one can be to sign up for a show like this) getting thrust into the spotlight after getting off the show is not something someone can prepare for. I can’t speak for all spots where black bears exist but here in SC/NC, it’s absolutely true. I see bears on my property about once every two weeks and the second I make any noise they hightail it out. Could be a bit different near some of the bigger parks where stupid people leave food or actively throw food at bears. For a black bear, you puff up and yell, but if they are hungry enough and keep coming, you take a swing/ideally have spray if you are prepared. If you pretend to be dead you are fucked, and you aren't outrunning it. Not in the wild, but I've heard enough from people who I hike with to know better.
