Tell him that you're always there if he needs to talk, but if he needs to go out for a walk or do something by himself to think things through then that's fine too. At least, that's what I wish my ex had done. For me, the "nothing" answer comes after considering the potential responses from a girl (mostly negative) and deciding that it will hurt less just to keep everything inside. It's a side effect of getting burned by someone you trusted, and also from trying to discuss feelings with people who give you the "You just gotta get over it" answer or "Just go have a one night stand" advice.

I moved here for my now wife and seeing the way people act has got me wishing to go back to Europe. I loved it here before people started showing blind faith in someone so wrong so often. I dunno, I think everyone should be raised to be like that in a sense, granted I think people should be able to ask for help if they need it. I don't think it is healthy to suffer a tragedy and break when you could be trying to make things better.bI am not implying that people shouldn't feel emotions, nor should they bury them, but you can feel pain and sadness and try to be a useful human at the same time.
