I am convinced that keeping my emotion inside and balled up is going to cause me to lose my life. I stay stressed. I need help but I'm too prideful to ask for it. I need a shoulder but if I cry my entire family (of 6, who depend on me to be their rock) suddenly think the world is ending and I can't let that happen. I need to relax but I can't. I'm going to die because of it and I know it. I'm 27. If you can find a private place, like in your car parked far away from people, or in the woods, cry it out. Bawl your eyes out and let it all out. I've kept my emotions inside for quite some time now (I'm 31 now) and am only recently realizing how good it is to put away whatever idea of myself I built that being strong means to not show emotions. Start with showing them to yourself, then gradually to others.

Another strange tale from the arctic regions: Many years ago my dad was working on an engineering project in Kangerlussuaq - the location of Greenland's biggest airport. Since hotel accommodation was limited he was staying at the US Air Base Sodrestrom next to the airport. The first night he was there someone at the base invited him to the bar on the base. It was only a short walk, but the guy insisted they drove. After some pretty heavy drinking, my dad expected them to walk back, but the locals insisted on taking the car. Just as they got into the car, military police showed up and asked what they were doing. Same. Although I didn’t get to do much gaming during my treatments... my chemo and immunotherapy regimen required Benadryl so I slept during a good portion of my treatment time. I guess it’s just not something that I ever really thought about before, but it’s really cool to know there are so many other people out there like myself that have gone through this and bond over gaming. If I remember correctly it’s a reference to the founding myth of Rome. There’s a response where the wishes say “kill it” or something to that effect. The right answer is “thanks” it recalls the mother wolf who keeps her child safe with her mouth.
