I can't cry from sadness in a lot of situations. Even when my dad died. But I can cry from "working together for the common good" type stuff, usually in shows or books. It still helps to get some of that out. But I don't want you to die stressed. There's a concept in relationships called emotional labor. It sounds like you feel it's your job to control your emotions all the time (and never vent steam) and others have grown accustomed to that. But maybe if they think the sky is falling when you have emotions it's because the straw that broke the camel's back caused an outsized reaction from you (extra dismissal points if you drink after work or have another reason to have mood swings)

I moved here for my now wife and seeing the way people act has got me wishing to go back to Europe. I loved it here before people started showing blind faith in someone so wrong so often. I swear so many people I thought were good people have shown me just how little they care for anyone other than themselves. I feel more sorry for my wife seeing it in people she has known her whole life. Oh also how batshite crazy things from Facebook they believe I started off trying to show them other facts but have just given up now as they believe Martha with her flawless logic not the scientific community. I dunno, I think everyone should be raised to be like that in a sense, granted I think people should be able to ask for help if they need it. I don't think it is healthy to suffer a tragedy and break when you could be trying to make things better.bI am not implying that people shouldn't feel emotions, nor should they bury them, but you can feel pain and sadness and try to be a useful human at the same time.  But to interesting enough for an hour or two at a time. The fact that 2 contestants have killed themselves, along with the host and an associate of one of the contestants, is a glaring indication of the type of people who are taken advantage of for this type of show. It still seems different to me than what UK paparazzi and US reality shows do to the people they exploit. I suppose it’s another type of victimization.
